Travel Clinic
Travelling abroad is exciting and preparing for a trip should include thinking about your health. There may be different health risks that are unique to different countries. In fact, some countries require certain vaccinations such as Yellow Fever or Meningococcal vaccine in order to enter the country. No matter your destination, it’s a good idea to visit a travel clinic that can provide personalized health advice based on your itinerary so that you can stay safe and healthy when abroad.
The Travel Clinic at Caroline Family Health Team provides a comprehensive assessment tailored to you. Prescriptions are offered if necessary and we have a variety of vaccines on-site that can be given at your appointment. Common travel health concerns are addressed during the consultation which may include:
- Malaria
- Traveler’s diarrhea
- Altitude sickness
- Motion sickness
- Vaccine preventable illnesses
We recommend booking an appointment 4-6 weeks before travel as some vaccines require multiple doses. Appointments are offered Monday to Thursday from 8:30am to 5:00pm. Please allow 30-60 minutes for the consultation. At the moment, the Travel Clinic is only available to patients of the Caroline Family Health Team.

Travel medicine services and travel vaccines are not funded by OHIP. Some private health insurance benefits will reimburse some or all of the cost. The cost of the travel consultation is $50 per person or $150 for a group/family of 3 or more travelling on the same itinerary. We also sell travel vaccines on-site and administered on the same day as the consultation. A receipt will be provided which may be submitted to your private health benefit plan or claimed on personal taxes as a medical expense.
